Helotes Hill UMC

Helotes Hills UMC is a beautiful church in a small community on the outskirts of San Antonio. In May 2010, a mesoscale convective storm hit the town and severely damaged the church. Shingles were ripped up and water dripped down into the ceiling and – of greatest import – large, exposed beams.

The beams were finished with an opaque stain. Stains are created to develop “character” over the years, and you can’t just “repaint” and match the undamaged surfaces. Working with the pastor and church leadership, JF&A agreed to seal and paint all of the beams.

The difference was dramatic, brightening the room and bringing a fresh spirit of relief and praise to the congregation of Helotes Hills.
